Welcome to Mr. Kirk's Homepage

Here's hoping for a positive, safe, and in-person school year with all of the extracurriculars running at full speed!

My name is Andrew Kirk and I am a teacher and coach at Bert Church High School.  I have had the privilege of working with many students and in many different roles over the years.  I attended the University of Calgary for both a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology and Bachelor Degree in Education.  I also earned a Master's Degree in Leadership and Administration from Gonzaga University in Washington.

I believe that a passion for the subject and positive relationships with students are at the heart of an engaging classroom.  This year I will be teaching Sport Medicine 10/20/30 as well as Physical Education 9. Your involvement as a parent is essential to the educational team and success of your child at school. Please visit PowerSchool to monitor your child's progress, class schedule/timelines, attendance, and grades.  To assist in classroom delivery, all Sports Medicine students can access Google Classroom online for support.

I also have the privilege of leading the Bert Church Link Crew. Link Crew is responsible for welcoming our newest members of the Bert Church High School community and introducing them to what BCHS has to offer.

In addition to teaching, I have coaching responibilities with girls' soccer.  It is a pleasure to work with these student-athletes.  As a coaching staff, we try to instill values such as being a reliable and positive member of the school community.  It is important to us that our athletes recognize the accountability and control they have over their academics.  Being successful in the classroom translates to being successful in sports and vice versa.  Note:   Please check our Athletics page for more information.
