Welcome to Ms. Dahl's Homepage

Hello!  I am a Learning Support Teacher at Bert Church High School.  Learning Support is designed to support the diverse learning needs of Grade 9 to 12 students.  Students requiring a supportive program are taught skills and strategies to better understand their individual learning needs.

I teach grades 9 - 12 functional academic courses of Mathematics Fundamentals and Language Arts Fundamentals.  I also teach General Fundamentals that includes life skills, social skills and workplace skills.

Students are assessed based on their goals and objectives in their Individual Program Plan (IPP).

Transition Planning

Transition Planning from High School can be overwhelming.  Below are some useful links to help parents to plan for transition for after high school.

Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) funds programs and services to help adult Albertans with developmental disabilities to be a part of their communities and live as independently as they can.  You can begin the application process when your child is 16 years old.

The Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) program provides financial and health-related assistance to eligible adults with a disability. The disability must be permanent and substantially limit the person’s ability to earn a living.  You can begin the application process 6 months before your child turns 18 years old.
