Principal's Message

Rocky View Schools - Superintendent of Schools announces leadership announcements

Good Afternoon Everyone,

We are looking forward to Fathers Day Weekend and entering the last week of our school year. Please see below for a few notes from the school this week.

1. Last Day of Intervention Week

It has been great seeing many students taking advantage of the time to be re-assessed or move their mark in a positive direction these past two days. We will continue offering this till Thursday, June 24th. As mentioned previously, if you have specific class questions, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher.

2. Textbook/Device Return

We need as many textbooks returned this next week as possible. If your child is done with their course and has a textbook, please have them come to the school and check it back in at the library. Textbooks are an expensive resource that costs the student/family/school a lot of money to replace so having our entire inventory returned is critical.

As well, we would ask any students with a device still checked out to return them to the library. We have lent more devices out this year to help with at-home learning and obviously need these returned so we can support students with technology next year. Students may return these devices next week as well.

Our last Charger Connects of the year will run next Friday with more information about the startup of the 2021.22 school year. Until then, have a great weekend and week!

As part of pride month in Airdrie, staff and students at BCHS showed their support for the LGBTQIA2S+ community last week. BCHS strives to be an inclusive environment that supports all our students and staff and it was great to see such great participation! Thanks to the continued leadership from Ms. Tiemstra and Mr. Goodyear with our GSA!
Our Performing Arts class was able to perform the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe this year under health and safety protocols. Mr. Goodyear and the group did a wonderful job putting the play together and it is now accessible at the link below!

Students in Ms. King's Science 10 class were thrilled to be able to squeeze their frog dissection in this spring! A right of passage for many high school science students.
