Principal's Message

Hi Everyone,

Parent Teacher Conferences go Virtual!

We were thankful to be able to communicate with our parents this past week in our first-ever virtual parent-teacher conferences. It was pretty great to walk around and hear so many productive conversations occurring. Thanks to everyone who signed up. We have one more round on Tuesday, November 3rd. Sign up is open until noon that day.

Quarter 2 Classes Beginning

We are moving into our second quarter of school on Monday with our gr. 9 option students and Gr. 10 PE/CALM students switching up their courses. Gr. 9 students, your Quarter 2 options begin on Monday. We hope you enjoy the change.

Graduation Plans announced

This past week saw us host our Grad 2021 meeting with nearly 100 participants joining us on Zoom. Our graduation date has been set for Friday, May 21st with more details to come as our graduation committee is formed. As mentioned in the meeting, we will only be planning the convocation aspect as hosting a banquet at this time is not feasible. We look forward to how our Graduating class of 2021 is able to creatively celebrate this momentous occasion in May. Thanks in advance to all who will put in the work to get us there.

New Covid Symptoms List Announced

Lastly, I want to encourage us all to continue keeping on with following public health measures. With cases on the rise in Airdrie, we know that Covid is not stopping. We are continuing to remind and educate our students about good hand hygiene, distancing where possible, wearing masks, and staying home when they are sick. AHS announced on Thursday they are updating the symptoms list. For an updated version, please see the image below. Thank you for your adherance to these recommendations and cooperation thus far.

Have a great weekend!

Our Sports Performance 20/30 class enjoyed a Shine class at Genesis Place on Wednesday! Great to see our kids having fun and staying fit!
We love seeing our student's art on the walls! Doodle art was the theme and the talent showcased is obvious. Well done kids!
Our gr. 9 math students working collaboratively and figuring out shapes and how they work together! Thanks for sharing Ms. Wegiel!

Parent / Guardian Survey on School
Re-entry and Covid-19

Alberta School Councils' Association (ASCA) is conducting a survey to measure the “pandemic pulse” in the return to schooling with Covid-19 implications.

All parents / guardians in Alberta with children in Kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to participate in the survey.  (please share widely)

Participation is anonymous, and will inform the ASCA Board of Directors on parents’ perspectives during the Fall 2020 school re-entry.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. All responses are confidential.

The survey closes on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.

Thank you for your time and efforts!
