Principal's Message
Hi Everyone,
With semester 1 now officially behind us, we are looking ahead to starting Semester 2 on Tuesday, February 1st. Thank you to staff and students for your commitment at the end of the semester and for seeing your work through to the end. I had the opportunity to talk to a few students who took advantage of the extra intervention days and were excited to earn more credits than they would have had we ended on the 19th.
Looking ahead, please see the updates below.
1. Student programming/course changes
We will be processing any timetable change requests students have on Tuesday, Feb 1st and Wednesday, Feb 2nd. We don't anticipate as many as the first term as we have worked with students throughout the semester to update their semester 2 courses. Students will be called down to the Learning Commons, starting with the gr. 12's.
2. Portable Update
The portables are getting closer, with final touches being put on the insides. We are still awaiting windows and flooring for two of them, as well as confirmation that a fire hydrant will be installed for fire suppression. Our tentative timeline to move in is still the beginning of March. We are thankful for our staff and students' patience in this process and their flexibility.
3. Gr. 9 Routine Vaccination Forms
Parents of gr. 9 students, a reminder to return your routine gr. 9 vaccination forms. These forms are not for the COVID-19 vaccine but regularly scheduled vaccinations.

5. Alberta Innovates High School Youth Researcher Summer Program
The Alberta Innovates High School Youth Researcher Summer (HYRS) Program in Health is designed for motivated Grade 11 students in Alberta high schools to gain first-hand experience with biomedical and health research and to introduce them to career opportunities in research.
We are excited to host 6 boys and 6 girls basketball teams this weekend at JV BCI. Thanks to our coaches, parents, teacher sponsors, and athletes for your commitment to your teams. It's fun to watch sports happening in our building and to provide these opportunities for students from around RVS and beyond. Good luck to the Charger teams.
