This week has seen us go through a significant world event that continues to grow and impact Albertans. I want to thank everyone for your patience and maturity in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. As well, I want to thank our staff at BCHS for their steady hand in communicating and supporting students through this challenging time.
I would encourage everyone to continue to stay informed through the Alberta government's daily updates, checking the Alberta government's Covid-19 information page (https://www.alberta.ca/coronavirus-info-for-albertans.aspx) and make good decisions based on the information from the health experts. If you have specific questions when it comes to your student and attendance at school, we'll do our best to help, but we take our information from RVS, which is informed by Alberta Health Services.
Of note here at school, we are taking measures to limit the larger group gatherings, including our cafeteria space, learning commons, and any large group assembly. All field trips, sporting events, meetings (school council, parent teacher interviews), band concerts, and staff meetings have been cancelled to discourage the spread of the virus. As well, our water fountains will continue to be out of service and students are encouraged to bring water bottles to school to fill up at our water filling stations. Students are continually reminded to practice good hygiene habits. As always, it is your choice whether to send your child to school. Please contact the school for any absence.

Students in Mr. Crawley's Photography 20/30 class showed their creativity with the theme of 'Fiction' guiding the way. Very impressive.
Our students helped host a small gathering of middle school students this week for the Horizon's Leadership Conference. Awesome seeing Chargers showing leadership in the community!
Students in Culinary Arts used their skills to make delicious Chicken Noodle Soup. Industry standard expectations lead to great results!

Our football team was out in the community once again helping out. This time it took them to Ecole Airdrie Middle School where members of our team helped with the running of Active Living Days. Kids were guided through running drills and different activities led by our own students. Way to represent Chargers!
Our gym was packed last Friday night with our JV basketball teams playing two close games against cross town rival W.H. Croxford. Unfortunately, we didn't win either game but both teams played incredibly hard and represented BCHS with pride!
