Principal's Message

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I hope you had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend ahead. We said goodbye to September with a busy week at school. Please read below for a few updates.

1. Truth and Reconciliation

Throughout the course of the week, students were able to view engage in learning more about residential schools as well as ways to move forward with reconciliation. On Thursday, students could voluntarily write action statements, leading them to consider and think about what reconciliation could look like for them. We encourage our students and families to take time on Friday to reflect on the impact of residential schools and how we can move forward toward reconciliation.

If you want an opportunity to do this, see the photo below for an event happening in Airdrie.

2. Graduation 2023 Update

Save the date. Our BCHS Graduation Ceremony will be hosted at Genesis Place on Thursday, May 25th, from 6:00 - 8:30 PM. Graduates, we will host a parent information meeting on Thursday, October 20th at 6:00 PM in the BCHS gymnasium to go over specifics for your gr. 12 year. We look forward to celebrating our graduates!

3. School Fees

A reminder school fees are posted and can be paid for the entire school year at this time. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Twomey in the office at 403 948 3800.

4. Update from the Band

Members of the BCHS Senior Band will participate in the Airdrie Homecoming Festival this Saturday, October 1st. They will be performing a few numbers on the football field at Ed Eggerer Park immediately after the Mayor’s introductory address (around 12:15 pm.) Their next public performance will be at the Airdrie Bowl, where they support our Chargers as we take on the George McDougall Mustangs.

5. Transportation Update

For those transportation families that registered for bus service between June 27 to Aug 15 and selected the 50/50 fee payment option, the second/final automatic payment will be processed on October 1. For those that registered for bus service between Aug 16 and the current date and selected the 50/50 fee payment option, the second/final automatic payment will be processed on November 1.

Should families wish to cancel service, they are to complete and submit a Transportation Cancellation 2022/23 form by October 31 to obtain a full refund.

Have a great weekend,
