I am excited to be joining the Bert Church Student Services team this year! Over the last 20 years I’ve taught grades 5-11 Humanities and Health and have worked as both a School Counsellor and Child Development Advisor at the middle school level. This is my 11th year with Rocky View Schools after previously working in New York and Los Angeles. I have an M.S. in Counselling and Guidance and an M.A. in English Education.
This year I will be working with students in grades 9 and 11.
I work from a Comprehensive Counselling and Guidance Model, which means I provide supports designed to enhance students’ attitudes and values. This may include individualized, small group or class activities that assist students with issues connected to education, social emotional development and post-secondary/career planning. Counselling services may be developmental, preventative, or crisis-oriented.
Students and parents are encouraged to connect with me about academic, career or personal concerns by making an appointment. Crisis concerns are handled throughout the day as needed.
Many educational events are coordinated and will be relayed to students via the announcements / Google GRAD classroom and the weekly newsletter for parents.

Hi, I have been part of the Bert Church Charger family since 2017.
I have been a School Counsellor for 26 years. In RockyView School Division I previously worked at Cochrane High School for 8 years. Before that I was the school counsellor with Livingstone Range School Division. That is where I also completed my M.C. (Master of Counselling - Counselling Psychology and School Counselling). I volunteered with The Family Centre in Lethbridge working mainly in the areas of parent/child conflict and addictions. Prior to my work in southern alberta I was an educator and counsellor in various northern Alberta communities.

This year I am continuing my work with the Grade 12's and the Grade 10's - supporting them as they figure out being in a high school and are preparing to leave it. Students and parents are encouraged to connect about academic, career or personal concerns by making an appointment. Crisis concerns are handled throughout the day as needed.
