Ms. Booker's

Welcome to the Bert Church Food Studies Program grades 9-12.   The instructor is Ms. Booker ( B. Sc. , B. Ed., Red Seal Cook) who has experience in both a variety of food service venues and teaching both foods and culinary for a number of years in Alberta Schools.  This course encompasses a variety of modules designed to introduce the student to basic food nutrition, health life style diets, and food preparation.     Due to the nature of the course and the time allotted to individual modules students are expected to complete course work and labs in a timely manner.  Students need to develop and demonstrate awareness of health and safety protocols.  Team work and collaborative efforts are necessary in labs.  Students will be evaluated on proficiency as well as attitudes in the food lab.
