Welcome back! Information for the first week of school

Please familiarize yourself with the administration team, consisting of: Ms. Tysowski – Principal, Mr. Johnstron – Assistant Principal responsible for students with last names L-Z and Mr. Thompson – Assistant Principal responsible for students with last names A-K.

Additionally, our student services team this year consists of our school councillors Ms. Boguski and Ms. Lack and Mrs. Parlee and Ms. Foley as learning support teachers.

 

TIMETABLES for 2025.26:  We know that students are checking their schedules on PowerSchool and seeing their classes for this school year. A reminder that students are to know their schedule ahead of starting school and must follow it on the first day. Best practice as a student would be to download the PowerSchool app on your phone, so you have the live schedule available to you. If you can’t do that, taking a picture of your schedule prior to coming to school is another solution.

Please be aware that with our growing number of students and increasing class sizes, course requests/changes will only be supported based on academic needs and/or scheduled conflicts. If your child requires a timetable change, we ask that you please complete the link and administration along with student services will work to address your request.

Families it is of utmost importance that if your child has a blank in their schedule, please book an appointment with their counsellor or administration representative as soon as possible.

If you are transitioning to BCHS from GMHS or W.H Croxford as part of the boundary reconfiguration and have not yet heard from us and/or do not have a schedule, please ensure you are calling the school to set up a time to meet with our School Councillors to discuss your timetable and academic planning for the school year. Gr. 10: Students will be given lockers on their first day, during period 1. Grade 10 students should have their locks from last year, if you/your child has missed place/lost their lock, you may purchase a new school lock at the time of issue. Lock fees will be added to School Cash Online.

Gr. 11 and Gr. 12: We will have lockers available for grade 11 and 12 students in the coming days/weeks. Stay tuned for more information.

Please be reminded that non issued Bert Church Lockers are not permitted and will be removed.  

 

 

Tuesday, September 2 is a DAY 2 – regular bell/timetable schedule

Thursday, September 4 is SCHOOL PICTURE DAY 

Friday, September 5 is a Day 1 : BCHS Welcome Back Carnival for students. There will be a modified timetable for the school day.
