Wednesday, September 4th, 2024 - Friday, September 6th, 2024

The first day of school for all Gr. 9 – Gr. 12 students is Wednesday, September 4. We are excited to host nearly 1390 students this year and get the 2024.25 school year underway!

Friday, September 6th, 2024

BCHS Welcome Back Assembly and Welcome Back Carnival for students. There will be a modified timetable for the school day.

TIMETABLE CHANGES:

Students should be checking their schedules on PowerSchool and seeing their classes for the year. A reminder that students are to know their schedule ahead of day 1 and follow it on the first day. Best practice would be to download the PowerSchool app on your phone, so you have the live schedule available to you. If you can’t do that, taking a picture of your schedule prior to coming to school is another solution. We will not be printing schedules for students as we find most students already have theirs on their phone and for many, your schedules change with the admin wall.As usual with admin wall, we will work backwards from Gr.12 - Gr.9, most likely concluding the changes on Friday Sept. 6. Please be aware that with our growing number of students and increasing class sizes, course requests/changes will only be supported based on academic needs and/or scheduled conflicts.

Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 is open ONLY to Gr. 12 student timetable changes. We welcome students with last names starting with A-M from 10am-12pm and last names N-Z from 1pm-3pm to meet in the cafeteria. Student are welcome to come to school in person, to have these changes occur. If they cannot make it in person on that date, please email your admin representative:

  •  Mrs. Gill  (J-Q)
  • Mr. Johnston (R-Z)Mr. Thompson (A-I).

Email addresses can be found on the Bert Church website.

Wednesday, September 4th - Friday, September 6th: We will start conducting timetable changes in block 1.

As usual, we will work backwards from Gr. 12 – Gr. 9.  Students are asked to follow the timetable they are in until the official changes are made with an administrator or counsellor. If you have a blank in your schedule, please book an appointment with your counsellor or administration representative as soon as possible.

LOCKERS:Gr. 9:

Like previous years, on the first day of classes, during period 1 Grade 9 students will receive new locks and be assigned lockers by their first period teacher. These locks are issued in grade 9 and are the responsibility of the student for their time at Bert Church High School.

  • Gr. 10: Students will be given lockers on their first day, during period 1. Grade 10 students should have their locks from last year, if you/your child has misplaced/lost their lock, please speak with the office.
  • Gr. 11 and Gr. 12: We will have lockers available for grade 11 and 12 students in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more information.

Please be reminded that non-Bert Church issued locks are not permitted and will be removed.
